Covert HUMINT Training Programmes

The 'Intent' of a rival can only effectively be judged by getting to know them by undermining the loyalty of a team member and recruiting them or, for all intents and purposes, by joining the team.

The skills of UK military Agent Handlers are world renowned. Their endeavours in numerous complex situations have resulted in countless successes including the saving of life, protection of property and gathering of intelligence for subsequent targetted operations.

Athena Security & Intelligence Consultants (ASIC) Ltd. can deploy operationally experienced Agent Handlers worldwide, from our Glasgow location, on behalf of our corporate and allied military Clients to train teams of discreet and covert Agent Handlers to operate in any environment.

ASIC Ltd train military and corporate intelligence in specialised Human Intelligence (HUMINT) techniques allowing them to deploy HUMINT Teams alongside their overt personnel.

In a Security Force context, the deployed Field HUMINT Team will aid the Task Force mission in a number of ways :

  1. Provide a cost-effective, responsive element that will provide the FIND and FIX core functions enabling them to obtain time sensitive, exploitable intelligence to allow for surgical application of the STRIKE function.
  2. Significantly enhance Force Protection of the Task Force.
  3. Provide an intelligence asset, under National control, that will operate in-country to answer the Commander's Critical Information Requirements.
  4. Measure the impact of Task Force operations, at the Tactical level, which will allow for informed Operational and Strategic decisions to be taken with the benefit of an accurate intelligence-led 'Road Map'.

Such a capability, although of immediate value to overseas Peace Support Operations, can also be further developed, over time, to significantly enhance the effectiveness of domestic counter-terrorist/counter-piracy operations hence maintaining the security of persons, Critical National Infrastructure and corporate investments.

During our bespoke training, our aim is to train the Handling Team to meet with, debrief and drop off the Source without compromise.  The programmes are long depending upon the Client desired end-state (up to 4 months duration - although these can be modularised as required) and physically and mentally arduous.  In order to maximise Student success rates, we are able to offer advice on appropriate pre-course selection procedures.

The covert HUMINT programme will include methods of contact/pick up, debriefing techniques, behavioural symptoms analysis, cultivation and recruitment and many other modules depending upon the likely deployment scenario.

BASIC HUMINT training is designed for the operator who will be working discreetly, in a permissive/semi-permissive environment.

The ADVANCED element of training is designed for those who will be operating entirely covertly - mainly in non-permissive environments.

Programmes can also incorporate Staff training for those who will be conducting HUMINT management/*2X operations.

We offer a complete turn-key training package - creating a capability and significant Force Multiplier within our Client organisation.

Such covert HUMINT training can be conducted anywhere in the world and, upon request, can include Security and Survival training involving Hostage Survival, Firearms, Advanced Driving and Trauma Care/First Aid.

ASIC Ltd. also offer Resistance to Interrogation, Prisoner Handling/Tactical Questioning and Interrogation training to appropriate Clients.  Such courses are designed as either Student based or Train the Trainer courses.
